What Whimzi Is For

Whimzi is a place to find hobbies that fit you and the people who share them. These Guidelines describe how we expect everyone to treat each other here. They are part of our Terms of Service, and violating them can lead to content removal or the loss of your account.

If something in the app doesn't feel right, report it. We read every report.

Be Yourself

  • Be who you say you are. Don't impersonate another person, business, or organization, and don't claim an affiliation you don't have.
  • One account per person. Extra accounts, including accounts made to get around a suspension, will be removed.
  • You must be 18 or older. Whimzi is for adults. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it.

Respect People

  • No harassment or bullying. Don't threaten, intimidate, demean, or repeatedly target someone. If a person has blocked you, leave them alone.
  • No hate. Attacking people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability is not allowed.
  • No violence. Don't threaten, glorify, or encourage violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
  • Don't share other people's private information. Home addresses, phone numbers, private photos, or anything else someone would not want public stays private.

Keep It Clean

  • No sexual content. Whimzi is not the place for pornography, sexually explicit images, or sexual solicitation.
  • Never share an intimate image of someone without their consent. This includes real photos, edited photos, and AI-generated images made to look like a real person. If you find an intimate image of yourself on Whimzi, see Requesting Removal of an Intimate Image below.
  • Nothing sexual involving minors, ever. We remove it, preserve the evidence, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement.

Post What's Yours

  • Share content you have the right to share. Don't post photos, writing, or other work that belongs to someone else without permission.
  • No spam. Don't post repetitive content, mass-send messages, or use bots or scripts.
  • No unwanted promotion. Whimzi isn't a place to advertise. Businesses that want to reach Whimzi users can sponsor a hobby guide.

Keep It Real

  • No scams or fraud. Don't try to trick people out of money, information, or account access.
  • No deceptive content. Don't spread content you know to be false in a way that could harm people.
  • Don't break the app. Don't try to access other accounts, interfere with the service, scrape data, or get around security features.

Reporting and Blocking

To report a post, comment, message, group, or person, tap the menu on the content or profile and choose Report. You can also email [email protected].

To block someone, open their profile and choose Block. A blocked person can't see your profile, follow you, message you, or interact with your content.

Reports are confidential. We never tell someone who reported them.

What Happens When We Act

Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may:

  • Remove the content;
  • Send a warning;
  • Temporarily suspend the account;
  • Permanently remove the account; and/or
  • Report the matter to law enforcement.

Serious violations, including anything sexual involving a minor, threats of violence, or non-consensual intimate imagery, result in immediate account removal. Accounts that repeatedly post content that infringes someone else's copyright are terminated.

Requesting Removal of an Intimate Image

If an intimate image or video of you has been posted on Whimzi without your consent, you or someone authorized to act for you can ask us to remove it. This applies to real images and to edited or AI-generated images made to look like you.

How to request removal: email [email protected] with the subject line Removal Request and include:

  1. Your name and your electronic signature (typing your full name is enough);
  2. Enough information for us to find the content, such as the handle of the account that posted it and a description of the post or message;
  3. A brief statement that you believe in good faith the image is of you and was published without your consent; and
  4. An email address where we can reach you.

What we do: We remove the content as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receiving a valid request, and we make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies. We act in good faith on these requests, which means we may remove content that reasonably appears to be a non-consensual intimate image even if it later turns out to be something else. We keep a record of each request and what we did.

This process is required by the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act, and we take it seriously.

Copyright Complaints

If you believe someone has posted your copyrighted work on Whimzi without permission, our Terms of Service explain how to send a copyright notice and how to respond if your own content was removed. See Terms of Service, Section 8.
